Telehealth consultation available for regional and remote patients

Since the Australian government launched the Telehealth program, Brisbane Urology Clinic Urologists have been conducting Skype consultations with patients and their GPs in regional and remote areas.

Telehealth consultations can prevent patients from having to travel long distances for a quick review appointment. These consultations can also expedite specialist management for remote patients with more urgent urological conditions.

Once we receive a referral from the GP, our urologists will determine if a Telehealth consultation is appropriate. If so, country patients simply attend their GP’s surgery for the Skype consultation at an arranged time. Alternatively, if a patient has access to Skype at home, the consultation can even be organised from there.

Our Urologists have been providing a regular urological service to Central Queensland for several years by weekly visits to Rockhampton, Gladstone and more recently Bundaberg for local consulting and operating.

We are proud to offer this ongoing service by participating in Telehealth, assisting patients in this area, as well as any other regional and remote areas across Queensland.

If you are seeking advice regarding a new or existing patient, please call our central office on 07 3830 3300 and our administrative staff will contact a Urologist with your request immediately.
